Monday: Motion on Paris Agreement and climate change

UPDATED June 5, 2017 9:19amET

MPs debate a government motion reaffirming Canada’s support for the Paris Agreement on climate change, following last week’s announcement of the United States’ planned withdrawal.

Here is the motion, to be introduced at 12pm ET / 9am PT:

That, in the opinion of the House, climate change is a global problem that requires a global solution; and that, despite the withdrawal of the United States from the Paris Agreement, Canada remain committed to the implementation of the Agreement, as it is in the best interest of all Canadians.

The House of Commons continues with evening sittings; bills C-44 and C-49 are on the order paper, with a time allocation motion expected for the former.

Debate begins on Bill C-345, which aims to improve occupational safety for pregnant or nursing employees.
