More debate is expected after question period on bills C-46 and C-49.

The parties hold their weekly caucus meetings on Parliament Hill this morning.

MPs consider a Senate bill to officially recognize Charlottetown as the “Birthplace of Confederation” (S-236) — citing the role of the 1864 Charlottetown Conference in bringing about the union of British North America three years later.

The order paper also has a concurrence motion, via a finance committee report, to abandon a private member’s bill on tax credits for first aid training.

And several second-reading votes are scheduled: bills C-203, C-342, and C-344.

In committee:

  • The Iranian Canadian Congress, Canadian Labour Congress, and First Nations child advocate Cindy Blackstock appear at the heritage committee on Motion M-103.
