Saskatchewan 2011 Provincial Election
CPAC’s Kenneth Bell is in Saskatchewan to talk with the party leaders and to discover what voters are thinking. There are six registered political parties in Saskatchewan, but the Nov. 7 election is really a two-horse race. Saskatchewan Party leader Brad Wall has led in opinion polls since becoming premier in 2007, and has been coined "Mr. Popularity." NDP leader Dwain Lingenfelter has led his party since 2009. The NDP currently holds 20 of the 58 seats in the legislature, most of them in urban Saskatchewan. The Saskatchewan Party hold the rest. Liberal leader Ryan Bater is telling voters there has to be a third party in the Saskatchewan legislature and is campaigning hard to win his Battleford riding. The Green party under Victor Lau are running 58 candidates, the P.C Party of Saskatchewan has five, and the Western Independence Party of Saskatchewan has two candidates.
