Update on Canadian Response to Rohingya Refugee Crisis

International Development Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau holds a news conference in Ottawa on December 13, 2017, to provide an final tally on the Myanmar Crisis Relief Fund.

Canadians have donated $12.5 million to registered charities to help Rohingya people affected by the violence in Myanmar, a figure which the federal government will match. Canada’s overall response to the humanitarian crisis is now $50 million. More than 625,000 Rohingya have fled to neighbouring Bangladesh since August 25, 2017. (No interpretation)
