Government Update on National Council for Reconciliation

Crown-Indigenous Relations Minister Carolyn Bennett holds a new conference in Ottawa on December 13, 2017, to announce the appointment of six members to the interim board of directors for the National Council for Reconciliation. Grand Chief Wilton Littlechild, a former commissioner on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission who will chair the council’s interim board, also speaks with reporters.

The government announced its intention to create the council in December 2016, following a recommendation from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. (no interpretation)
