MPs React to Defeat of Motion to Call Justin Trudeau Before Committee

Conservative MP Peter Kent, NDP MP Nathan Cullen, and Liberal MPs Nathaniel Erskine-Smith and Chris Bittle speak with reporters in Ottawa on January 9, 2018, following a special meeting of the Commons ethics committee.

MPs were considering a motion to call Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to tesify before the committee, in response to the ethics commissioner’s report on the Aga Khan and violations of the Conflict of Interest Act. The Liberal majority on the committee defeated the Conservative motion by a vote of 6-3. (No interpretation)
