St. Anne’s Residential School Survivors Discuss Legal Dispute

NDP MP Charlie Angus holds a news conference on January 15, 2018, in Ottawa alongside Stella Chapman and Angela Shisheesh, survivors of St. Anne’s Residential School involved in a legal dispute with the federal government. Shannin Metatawabin, the son of a St. Anne’s Residential School survivor, and Anna Betty Achneepineskum, deputy grand chief of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation, also speak with reporters.

A Roman Catholic mission operated the school at Fort Albany, Ontario, from the 1910s until 1963.
