Seven MPs Quit Bloc Québécois Caucus

On February 28, 2018, on Parliament Hill, seven MPs announce that they have quit the Bloc Québécois caucus and will sit in the House of Commons as the Groupe parlementaire québécois. The MPs have split with the Bloc over concerns about Martine Ouellet’s leadership.

Louis Plamondon (Bécancour–Nicolet–Saurel), Luc Thériault (Montcalm), Rhéal Fortin (Rivière-du-Nord), and Gabriel Ste-Marie (Joliette) speak with reporters. They are accompanied by Michel Boudrias (Terrebonne), Simon Marcil (Mirabel) and Monique Pauzé (Repentigny). Three MPs remain in the Bloc caucus. (no interpretation)
