Hill Security Unions Raise Concerns About Labour Relations and Low Morale
The unions that represent Parliament Hill security employees hold a news conference in Ottawa to voice concerns over labour relations with Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS) Operational personnel. The PPS was created in 2015 following the shooting on Parliament Hill and combines the former Senate and House of Commons Protection Services and the RCMP's Parliament Hill Security Unit into a unified security service. House of Commons Security Services Employees Association president Roch Lapensée, Senate Protective Service Employees Association president Brian Faust, Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) regional executive vice-president for the national capital region Greg McGillis, and PSAC local 70392 president David Pengelly discuss unresolved labour grievances.
