Conservative MPs on Firearms Bill and Petition
Conservative MPs Michelle Rempel and Pierre Paul-Hus hold a news conference on Parliament Hill. Rempel plans to table a petition that calls for members appointed to the Canadian Firearms Advisory Committee to obtain a firearms licence, in order for individuals to have a basic understanding of firearms regulations. Over 16,000 Canadians have signed the petition, which was launched in 2017 by firearms advocate Tracey Wilson. Paul-Hus discusses the party's concerns with the government's firearms bill. MPs are expected to vote on C-71 at second reading this evening after they finish the first round of debate. (March 28, 2018) (no interpretation)
