B.C. Coalition & NDP MPs on Canada's Commitment to Sustainable Development Goals
Michael Simpson, executive director of the B.C. Council for International Cooperation (BCCIC), Jenny Kwan, the MP for Vancouver East, and Nathan Cullen, the MP for Skeena – Bulkley Valley, B.C., speak to reporters in Ottawa about Canada’s preparedness to implement the United Nations’ 2030 agenda for sustainable development. In 2015, the U.N. General Assembly formally adopted the agenda, which contains 17 ambitious goals to end poverty, fight inequality and tackle climate change by 2030. Both the BCCIC and federal environment and sustainable development commissioner Julie Gelfand have raised concerns about Canada being able to meet its international commitment. Cullen also respond to questions about recent allegations against NDP MP Christine Moore. (May 8, 2018) (no interpretation)
