Fisheries Council President Comments on Arctic Surf Clam Controversy
Paul Lansbergen, president of the Fisheries Council of Canada, holds a news conference on Parliament Hill to discuss the controversy surrounding the federal government's decision to award a lucrative Arctic surf clam fishing licence to the Five Nations Clam Company. Federal Fisheries Minister Dominic Leblanc announced last September that a fourth licence would be issued representing 25 per cent of the existing total allowable catch for 2018.
