Canadian Citizen Bashir Makhtal Speaks About His Ordeal in Ethiopian Prison
Bashir Makhtal, a Canadian citizen who was detained in an Ethiopian prison for more than 11 years, addresses the media for the first time since his release. Makhtal was sentenced to life in prison on terrorism-related charges. He was released from prison on April 18, 2018, and returned to Canada on April 21.
