Canada Extends NATO Mission in Latvia
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his Latvian counterpart Maris Kucinskis hold a joint news conference in Riva, Latvia, where Trudeau announces Canada is extending its commitment to the NATO mission in Latvia for another four years to March 2023. Canada is also increasing the number of its troops in the Baltic state from 455 to 540. Trudeau is visiting Latvia ahead of the NATO summit, which is taking place July 11 and 12 in Brussels, Belgium.
