The committee continued its special study of Canada-U.S. price discrepancies for the same products. Senators are conducting this special study at the request of Finance Minister Jim Flaherty.

Marketing professors Ken Wong (Queen's School of Business) and Avi Goldfarb (University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management) discussed the factors involved in pricing decisions on either side of the border for consumer products.

Brent Patten, a director at the Canada Border Services Agency, along with Lily Ooi and Wayne Tallack, two senior officials from Public Safety Canada, then discussed the role of their organizations as it pertains to the committee's study.
