Information Commissioner Suzanne Legault and senior representatives from the Public Prosecution Service of Canada testified as part of the committee’s five-year Parliamentary review of the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act. Legault discussed her role as information commissioner and addressed senator’s concerns regarding information disclosure and privacy. George Dolhai and Simon William from the Public Prosecution Service of Canada spoke about the mandate of their department as well as its role in the criminal justice system.
