In Committee from the Senate of Canada - Foreign Affairs – March 14, 2012


Adam Foote, a member of the Youth Branch of the Royal Commonwealth Society, appeared before the committee via videoconference to discuss the establishment of a charter of the Commonwealth. Foote spoke about the need for youth involvement in the making of such a charter.

During the second segment of the meeting, former Australian High Court justice Michael Kirby spoke about the origin and drafting of the charter via videoconference. Kirby is a member of the Eminent Persons Group that recommended the adoption of a charter.
