Officials from Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada testified as part of the committee's study of the Métis in Canada.

Kathy Langlois, a director general in the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch at Health Canada, discussed the department's services and program that available to this aboriginal group. Marla Israel, acting director general for the agency's Centre for Health Promotion, spoke about issues such the rate of diabetes for the Métis and anti-smoking campaigns.
