Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney appeared before the committee to discuss the bank’s latest monetary policy report and the state of the Canadian economy.
Carney spoke about Canada’s strong economic outlook and the potential for growth in Europe and the United States. He also discussed domestic risks for the Canadian economy, including household spending and debt. Senior deputy governor Tiff Macklem responded to questions concerning national innovation and productivity.
