Senators continued to examine the expenditures set out in the main estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2013. Anne-Marie Robinson from the Public Service Commission spoke to the committee about the difficulties associated with fiscal restraint. She also discussed some of the money saving initiatives that the commission will implement. Robinson was joined by her colleague Hélène Laurendeau. Daphne Meredith, Ross MacLeod and Marc-Arthur Hyppolite, all representing the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, outlined steps that the organization has taken to adjust to the workforce reduction, and commented on some of the other effects of the government's budget cuts.
