Senators heard from Stephen Flanagan, the Kissinger chair in diplomacy and national security for the Center for Strategic and International Studies, who discussed the upcoming NATO summit in Chicago. Mr. Flanagan addressed the need for leaders to adjust to the changes in the fiscal climate, and to reaffirm both sides of the trans-Atlantic relationship. He also spoke about the current situation in Afghanistan.
