In Committee from the Senate of Canada - Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources – May 17, 2012

Witnesses representing the interests of Canadian oil and gas pipeline companies, as well as those of the mining industry, discussed the proposed regulation changes that are contained in the budget bill (C-38) concerning resource projects.

Brenda Kenny from the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association (via videoconference from Calgary), Ross Gallinger of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, and Mining Association of Canada representatives Pierre Gratton and Justyna Laurie-Lean expressed their support of the legislation intended to streamline the environmental review process.

UPDATE: Bill C-38 received royal assent on June 29.
