Representatives from the Conseil de la transformation alimentaire et des produits de consommation spoke to the committee about bringing research to the table in the context of Canada’s current agriculture and agri-food innovation system.
Sylvie Cloutier opened the discussion by outlining the role and the goals of the organization. She also spoke about the various programs offered to people in the industry. Her colleagues Jean-Pierre Lacombe, Dimitri Fraeys, and Carole Fortin aided in responding to questions posed by the committee. Richard Cloutier of the Centre québécois de valorisation des biotechnologies also answered questions.
