Academics and representatives from labour groups briefed the committee on measures contained in the budget implementation bill affecting Employment Insurance.

Andrew Jackson from the Canadian Labour Congress, Corinne Pohlmann from the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, Mathew Wilson from Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters, and Josh Hjartarson from the University of Toronto’s Mowat Centre shared their opinions on the proposed changes and responded to questions from senators.

UPDATE: Bill C-38 received royal assent on June 29.
