Representatives from various Aboriginal groups discussed proposals in the budget bill to streamline the environmental review process and to make changes to the Fisheries Act.

Bonnie H. Morse from Grand Manan Fishermen's Association; Terrance Paul and Bruce H. Wildsmith from the Assembly of Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq Chiefs; and Morley Watson, Will David, and Daniel Pujdak from the Assembly of First Nations spoke about their concerns with the provisions in Bill C-38.

UPDATE: Bill C-38 received royal assent on June 29.
