Auditor General Michael Ferguson was among the witnesses who discussed measures contained in part 4 of the budget implementation bill.

Assistant Auditor General Lyn Sachs, Professor Ian Lee from Carleton University, and John McAvity from the Canadian Museums Association also appeared before the committee and responded to questions from senators.

Elements of Bill C-38 that were discussed in this meeting included the elimination of certain audits previously required by the Auditor General, amendments to the Financial Administration Act, and changes to museum spending caps on travelling exhibits.

UPDATE: Bill C-38 received royal assent on June 29.
