Various import and export groups as well as dairy and beef associations testified as part of the committee's study of Bill S-11, the Safe Food for Canadians Act.

Keith Mussar and Robert Devalk, representatives of the Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters, Sukhdeep Bilkhu of the Canadian Association of Regulated Importers, along with Martin Unrav and Dennis Laycraft of the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association and Ron Versteeg from Dairy Farmers of Canada expressed their support for modernized food safety regulations.

UPDATE: Bill S-11 received royal assent on November 22.
