Senators hear from the chairs of two civilian RCMP review agencies as they continue their consideration of legislation (C-42) to increase accountability at the national police force.

Catherine Ebbs of the RCMP External Review Committee and Ian McPhail with the Commission for Public Complaints against the RCMP provide their thoughts on the proposed bill.

Tom Stamatakis, president of the Canadian Police Association, testifies via videoconference in the second part of the meeting. He outlines the concerns that the association has with some areas of the legislation.
