Transport and Communications Transport Minister Denis Lebel provides an overview of certain transport initiatives that are contained the budget bill. The minister discusses measures to authorize the construction of a new bridge between Windsor and Detroit, amendments to the Custom Act and changes related to the financing of aircraft. His appearance comes a day after Michigan voters defeated Proposition 6, which could have delayed the construction of the bridge. Helena Borges and Colin Stacey, two senior officials from Transport Canada, as well as Sharon McKeen and Anita Henderson from Canada Border Services Agency, also testify on the measures. UPDATE: Bill C-45 received royal assent on December 14.
