In Committee from the Senate of Canada - Foreign Affairs - March 7, 2013

Foreign Affairs

Senators hold a meeting on two different topics, starting with their ongoing study of economic and political developments in Turkey.

Murad Al-Katib, president and CEO of the Alliance Grain Trader, speaks about the economic advantages and opportunities Turkey can provide to Canadian companies and the economy as a whole. The witness is a Canadian-born entrepreneur of Turkish background who has travelled extensively to the region.

The committee then discuss Bill S-14, An Act to amend the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act, with senior officials from Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada. After hearing from the witnesses, senators proceed to clause-by-clause consideration of the legislation.
