In Committee from the Senate of Canada - Aboriginal Peoples - May 8, 2013

Aboriginal Peoples

Andrew Saranchuk and Aideen Nabigon from Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada discuss the progress made with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Auditor General Michael Ferguson raised concerns in his recent spring report about the lack of co-operation between the commission and the federal government. The commission was established to learn the truth about what happened in the operation of the residential schools. Its five-year mandate is scheduled to end July 2014.
