Former Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Don Campbell and former NAFTA chief negotiator and Ambassador to the WTO John Weekes testify as part of the committee's study on security conditions and economic developments in the Asia-Pacific region and the implications for Canadian policy and interests in the region.

Senior officials from Foreign Affairs discuss Canada's relationship with Burma, also known as Myanmar, during the second part of the meeting. Susan Gregson, assistant deputy minister for Asia-Pacific, and her colleagues Peter MacArthur and Jeff Nankivell comment on the progression of relations as the human rights situation, democratic development and economy have improved in Burma after decades of tight government control.
