In Committee from the Senate of Canada
National Defence - February 24, 2014 - Part 1
Auditor General Michael Ferguson discusses the chapter from his office's fall audit on preventing illegal entry into Canada. The committee is studying the effectiveness of the Canada Border Services Agency in determining the admissibility of travellers to Canada and the removal of inadmissible individuals. Nicholas Swales and Joanne Butler, Ferguson's colleagues who were responsible for the audit, respond to questions from senators. The committee also hears from Dan Faughnan from CSIS and Superintendent Shirley Cuillierrier of the RCMP. The CBSA and the RCMP share responsibility for preventing people from entering Canada illegally. (February 24, 2014)
