The Canadian Antimicrobial Resistance Alliance’s Dr. Philippe Lagacé-Wiens, a medical microbiologist at the University of Manitoba, discusses the public health issue of antibiotic resistance and overuse. The senators also hear from the Alliance for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics’ Dr. Scott McEwan, a professor at the University of Guelph, who speaks on antibiotic use in animal agriculture and its implications on human health.
