Senators continue their study on the unintended consequences from the use of prescription pharmaceuticals in Canada. The Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences’ Dr. David Juurlink speaks on how medications get market approval and highlights issues that arise from the clinical trial of prescription drugs. Also testifying to the committee is Michal Abrahamowicz, professor of biostatistics at McGill University, who presents a case study on a major drug recall because of serious health side effects.
