In Committee from the Senate of Canada - Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources - April 1, 2014

The senators continue their study on the current state of "One Call" programs that identify critical underground infrastructure in Canada. Chair of the Canadian One Call Centres Committee Sher Kirk explains that having a one call centre is critical to reducing damages to buried infrastructure and to enhance public safety. The committee also hears from Lloyd Chiotti and Ben Hamilton from Ontario One Call. Their purpose is to reduce damages to underground facilities and to promote safe excavation practices through the operation of a state of the art One Call centre for all facility owners in Ontario. Ontario One Call is uniquely legislated. (April 1, 2014)
