The committee continues its study on the current state of the “One Call” program which identifies critical underground infrastructure in Canada. Senators hear from Frank Zechner, Canadian Construction Association, who argues that in the interest of public safety there needs to be a mandated public call centre for centralized and up-to-date information on buried infrastructure: including: gas lines, electrical lines, water mains, phone lines, and other utilities.
