The senators continue their study on the policies, practices, and collaborative efforts of Canada Border Services Agency in determining admissibility to Canada and removal of inadmissible individuals. Janet Dench, executive director of the Canadian Council for refugees, and Richard Goldman, refugee protection coordinator for the Table de concertation des organismes au service des personnes réfugiées et immigrantes, share some areas of concern in regards to the CBSA.

In the second hour the senators continue their study on the status of Canada's international security and defence relations, including but not limited to, relations with the United States, NATO, and NORAD. Major General J.P.J. St-Amand, Commander, 1st Canadian Air Division for National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces, discusses the role of the 1st Canadian Air Division and the Canadian NORAD region. (April 7, 2014)
