Federal Finance Minister Joe Oliver provides an overview of the budget implementation bill as the committee begins its pre-study of Bill C-31. Senior officials from seven government departments go through measures of the bill including the expansion of GST/HST exemptions, adjustments to the domestic rate of excise duty on tobacco products, and amendments to the Hazardous Products Act. (May 1, 2014) UPDATE: Bill C-31 received royal assent on June 19.
