In Committee from the Senate of Canada - Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs - May 5, 2014

The committee begins a special session to review Part 6 of Bill C-31, the budget implementation act. Senators focus on the harmonization of compensations of benefits to veterans and their families. The first panel features Brad White (dominion secretary) and Ray McInnis (director of the Services Bureau) of the Royal Canadian Legion who say the changes in compensation are taking too long to be implemented.

The second panel has Veterans Affairs Canada’s Bernard Butler who provides an overview of the bill and briefs the committee on who will receive compensation. (May 5, 2014) UPDATE: Bill C-31 received royal assent on June 19.
