Department of Justice Canada representatives return to the committee to answer more questions from the Senators on Bill C-31’s measure concerning the consolidation of the administrative services of multiple tribunals into one entity. The panel includes France Pégeot, special advisor to the deputy minister, Ann Chaplin, senior general counsel, and Laurie Wright, assistant deputy minister of the Public Law Sector. They address the Canadian Bar Association’s concerns raised in their May 13, 2014, committee appearance. (May 14, 2014) UPDATE: Bill C-31 received royal assent on June 19.
