Senators continue to examine Bill C-5, which aims to amend the Canada-Newfoundland Atlantic Accord Implementation Act, the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Resources Accord Implementation Act and other Acts and to provide for certain other measures. Scott Tessier, the chair and chief executive officer of the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board and his legal counsel, Susan Gover and Stuart Pinks, the CEO of the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board outline the roles of their respective organizations and express their support for the bill. Kyle Buott, the secretary-treasurer for the Nova Scotia Federation of Labour expresses some support for the bill, but also suggests a few amendments he feels will improve the effectiveness of the proposed legislation.
