In Committee from the Senate of Canada
Transport and Communications - June 10, 2014
The committee conducts its clause-by-clause review of Bill S-4, the government’s Digital Privacy Act. The legislation aims to improve online protection for Canadians by amending the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, commonly known as PIPEDA. Among the key elements are measures to deal with data breaches, to provide new powers to the privacy commissioner, and to create new requirements whenever an organization asks individuals for their approval to collect, use or share their personal information.
