The committee continues its pre-study of Bill C-24, which deals with the government’s proposed overhaul of the Citizenship Act. Canadian Bar Association representatives Kerri Froc, Barbara J. Caruso and Barbara Jackman, along with Martin Collacott from the Centre for Immigration Policy Reform, present their views during the first panel. Senators hear from Melynda Jarratt with the organization Canadian War Brides and Yuen Pau Woo from the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada during the second panel. The last panel is made up of Sheryl Saperia from the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and Timothy Edwards of the Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers. (June 11, 2014) UPDATE: Bill C-24 received royal assent on June 19.
