Andrew Saranchuk from Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada and Martin Reiher from the Department of Justice Canada respond to questions before the senators move to clause-by-clause consideration of Bill C-25, the Qalipu Mi'kmaq First Nation Act. The senators then hear from Sheilagh Murphy from Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada, and Charles MacArthur and Carla Staresina from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, on the challenges relating to First Nations infrastructure on reserves. (June 17, 2014) UPDATE: Bill C-25 received royal assent on June 19.
