In Committee from the Senate of Canada
Legal and Constitutional Affairs - September 10, 2014 - Part 3
Terri-Jean Bedford testifies during the committee's pre-study hearings on the government's prostitution bill. She was one of the three plaintiffs in Canada v. Bedford, the legal challenge that led to the Supreme Court striking down three key provisions of the country's prostitution laws last December. The Court gave the federal government one year to draft new legislation. Lawyer Frances Mahon, who worked on the Bedford case, and associate law professor Janine Benedet also testify.
