Senators continue their examination of Bill S-6, which would amend the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act. Samson Hartland, executive director of the Yukon Chamber of Mines, Stuart Schmidt, president of the Klondike Placer Miners' Association, and Clynton Nauman, president and CEO of the Alexco Resource Corp., express their support of the proposed legislation. The bill would also amend the Nunavut Waters and Nunavut Surface Rights Tribunal Act. Thomas Kabloona, chair of the Nunavut Water Board, and Damien Côté, the Board's executive director, testify about this part of the legislation. (September 30, 2014)
