In Committee from the Senate of Canada - Aboriginal Peoples - October 1, 2014


The committee continues its hearings on a private member's bill (C-428) to amend certain sections of the Indian Act.

Appearing as an individual, consultant Ian Peach expresses his support of the bill, provides a few suggestions to improve the proposed legislation and addresses some concerns brought up by previous witnesses during past hearings. Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada senior officials Joe Wild, Nathalie Nepton, Line Paré, Kris Johnson and Chris Rainer along with Martin Reiher from the Department of Justice provide additional testimony and clarification on a few issues pertaining to the bill.
