Senators continue their study of Bill S-6, which would amend the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act. Elizabeth Kingston, the general manager of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut Chamber of Mines and her colleague, the organization's director, Adam Chamberlain discuss the mining industry in Nunavut and how the proposed legislation will affect it. Alex Ferguson, the vice-president, of policy and environment at the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, along with the organization's manager of Northern Canada, Aaron Miller, provide a brief history of the petroleum industry, and express their support for the bill.
