The committee begins its pre-study hearings on the government's latest budget implementation bill (C-43). Transport Canada officials Donald Roussel, Joyce Henry, April Nakatsu, Tamara Rudge, and Shari Currie provide details on amendments to the Aeronautics Act and the Canada Marine Act, as well provisions relating to the re-organization of certain Crown corporations in the transport minister's portfolio that own and operate international bridges.
Industry Canada officials Lynne Fancy, Adam Scott and Amy Jensen discuss amendments to the Radiocommunication Act and the Telecommunications Act and the proposal to eliminate paper billing fees for telecommunications customers. (November 18, 2014) UPDATE: Bill C-43 received royal assent on December 16.
